SAN DIEGO — A robbery suspect was arrested Monday in Mount Hope after he fell in the street while running away and was run over.

Police were called to Mr. D’s liquor store on Market Street near 41st Street about 8:40 a.m. after the owner reported that a masked man had robbed the store of cash at knife point, San Diego police said.

The thief was about a block away at J Street when he stumbled and his legs were run over by a car, police said.

The man got up and tried to walk away but robbery victims chased him down and detained him for police. The money was recovered, police said.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Shawn Moore, was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and was later booked into jail on charges on robbery, burglary and narcotics possession. He is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
