A Fresno gang member and his 17-year-old brother are in custody in connection with two central Fresno shootings in February, police reported.

Sgt. Jerardo Chamalbide identified Daniel Hoggs, 20, as the man accused of firing at a building in the 3900 block of North Millbrook Avenue on Feb. 3. The next day, two men were shot at a nearby home in the 3500 block of East Saginaw Way.

Chamalbide said Hoggs and his brother are believed to be responsible for both incidents. In the second, a man in a red car got out of the vehicle, walked up to the victims and opened fire. The victims were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where they are in stable condition.

Hoggs was arrested Friday in the 4900 block of East Illinois Avenue and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

His brother was booked into juvenile hall on charges of firing into a building.
