Improvised explosive device found at Chowchilla gas station

CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (KFSN) — Authorities are looking for the person who left an improvised explosive device at a Chowchilla gas station.

Chowchilla police were called to the Shell station on Chowchilla Boulevard near Kings Avenue on Friday for reports of a possible pipe bomb. They say a man put the device near the back of the store and left the scene.

Officers evacuated the area, and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb Squad rendered the IED safe.
