“A driver in Brampton, who has gotten away with driving with a suspended driver’s licence up to 36 years is now facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act after being stopped by Peel police on Saturday (Sept. 5).
Police did not identify the driver, but said he was stopped by officers driving a silver Hyundai Accent on Queen Street in Brampton on Saturday afternoon.
Following a brief investigation, officers discovered the man’s driver’s licence had been suspended since 1984 and that his vehicle was sporting unauthorized plates.
“Suspended Driver: Driver stopped by RSS officer on Queen St in #Brampton — Charged for driving with a suspended licence — suspension issued in 1984. Also charged w/ driving w/ unauthorized licence plates,” read a Peel police tweet.”
