A wanted suspect involved in the armed robbery and kidnapping of a 21-year-old Sanger woman back on Oct. 11 has now been arrested.
Fresno County Sheriff’s announced the arrest of Luis Alberto Valedez, 31, of Fairfield, CA on Tuesday. He was booked into Fresno County Jail in connection to the robbery and kidnapping of Jessica Llamas, who was attending a party in Parlier before being approached by two armed suspects who demanded money.
The incident first occurred on the cross streets of Parlier and Zediker Avenues at around 11:15 p.m that Saturday night. Llamas was forced into a 1998 white colored Toyota Camry and was dropped off in Merced on Sunday afternoon. A second victim tried to fight back, but was beaten after trying to intervene. That victim was not seriously hurt.
Sheriff spokesman Chris Curtice confirmed that not only was a warrant out for the arrest of Valedez, but the search led authorities all the way up north to Fairfield, along with assistance from the Fairfield Police Department.
“During the subsequent investigation, Valedez was identified as being one of the suspects involved in the crime,” Curtice said. “Detectives authored an arrest warrant for Valedez on a single charge of kidnapping. At detective’s request, last Sunday Valedez was arrested on the warrant by Fairfield PD officers at his home in Fairfield.”
After apprehending Valedez, he was transported to Fresno and sent to Fresno County Jail. There are still not one, but two outstanding suspects in the kidnapping still at-large.
Anyone with information regarding the two acquaintances of Valedez is being asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff’s office at (559) 488-3111.
