Pinole woman killed in Oakland shooting

A Pinole woman was fatally shot in Oakland late Thursday night, authorities said Friday.

Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at about 11:53 p.m. and found a woman with gunshot wounds in the 8900 block of MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland police said.

Paramedics treated the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Oakland police homicide investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting, authorities said.

Police are not releasing the woman’s name until her family is notified, authorities said.
