A 22-year-old woman was arrested by Sacramento police Tuesday night after she allegedly left two children, ages 1 and 2 years old, home alone.

Officers responded about 8 p.m. to a request for a welfare check after a 1-year-old child was found wandering in the 5100 block of La Pamela Way in south Sacramento. Officers found two children home alone and determined that they had been alone for approximately two hours, according to the Police Department’s daily activity log.

The children’s mother, identified as Angel Cleveland, arrived at the home while officers were there. She was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment and booked into Sacramento County Jail.

Police said the children were taken into protective custody.
