SAN DIEGO — A man robbed a U.S. Bank inside a grocery store in Torrey Highlands Saturday and was arrested after an officer spotted his getaway car on Interstate 5, San Diego police said.

The robber walked up to the bank counter inside Albertson’s on Highland Village Place about 1:40 p.m. and demanded cash with a note, police said.

He fled in a silver PT Cruiser with missing plates after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

As officers were responding to the call, one spotted the possible vehicle driving south on I-5. The officer waited for backup, then pulled the driver over near Tecolote Road.

Victor Moore, 32, was arrested and the stolen cash was recovered, police said. Witnesses from the bank heist also positively identified him.
