Vallejo slaying suspected arrested in Peru

(04-03) 21:10 PDT SAN FRANCISCO — A suspect in a 2013 Vallejo homicide was tracked down and arrested in Peru, police said Thursday.

Jimmy Richardson, 27, of Vallejo was shot numerous times on the sidewalk near Borges Lane and Evelyn Circle about 4:20 a.m. Feb. 4, 2013.

An investigation led to the identification of William Cordoba as the suspect, said Vallejo police Capt. Jim O’Connell.

Vallejo police and the U.S. Marshals Service discovered that Cordoba was in Lima, Peru. He was arrested there by Peruvian authorities on March 21. Extradition proceedings are pending.
