A 25-year-old man has been repeatedly stabbed in the chest, hands and arms after he was ambushed by a gang armed with a machete in a “brazen attack”, police said.
The shocking assault happened in broad daylight in a west London car park at about 1pm on Friday afternoon.
Officers said the victim was attacked by a group of five men on Orchard Close, Westbourne Park, before he was found wounded at the bottom of Bevington Road.
In a statement, officers said: “He had suffered defensive wounds to his hands and chest, consistent with being stabbed”.
A witness told police the “main aggressor” of the gang was armed with a machete and was using the weapon to attack the young man.
The witness reported the armed man was wearing a distinctive light free camouflage puffa-style jacket and jeans.
Police said the 25-year-old was rushed to hospital and it has been confirmed his injuries are non-life threatening.
Detective Constable Greg Plant, from Westminster’s Serious Crime Unit, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has any information on this brazen attack, or knows who may be involved.
“Sadly there were no CCTV cameras in the area, so we do not know in which direction the suspects left the scene, but I hope that someone reading this will be able to help our investigation.”
